First ever Easyjet flight - top tips please

I'm going to Tenerife in July and I normally fly long haul on airlines like BA, Emirates etc. but this one is Easyjet short haul. Our tickets include under seat bags and suitcases but I'm flying with another adult so we haven't reserved seats.

I've got the Easyjet app. Tell me anything I might need to know that I haven't thought of, please!

Make sure you include wheels and handles when measuring your hand luggage OP. Check in online asap so you get seats together. Download the App - in case of disruption, all rebooking is done via App unless you have an EasyJet Holidays package holiday.

Depending on where you're flying from you may well have to do self-serve bag drop so be prepared for that.

If you just have their small "under seat" bag carry on allowance, plus a checked case, then you can't use the overhead lockers. This is actually liberating. You don't need to care about the fight to squeeze your case in a locker near where you're sitting.

So don't follow the rush to queue up for ages standing in front of the gate. Sit down, chill out and board near the end of the process.

It's just a plane. What do you need tips for? It's really not different to other short haul trips. I got a free bottle of water on a BA flight to Italy last year. That's the only difference between that flight and an Easyjet one to Italy the year before.

Yes. I can’t help thinking there’s a distinct tone of ‘It’s like public transport, darling. You know, no Business Class and with poor people.

Download the EasyJet app & use it to check in & get your boarding passes. On IPhone you can keep them in your wallet. Bag drop at LTN is now self service, quick & efficient. I can’t comment on LGW. There’s no in-flight entertainment, not even a moving map, so bring a book / iPad / kindle etc. EasyJet’s catering is mediocre and expensive, so bring your own. I usually go to Pret, which is also expensive, but decent. Expect the rules on baggage to be applied strictly, so read, understand & comply unless you want to be clobbered with penalty charges.

This isn’t EasyJet specific, but airport security rules are currently infuriatingly inconsistent, depending on what type of scanner is in use. So check your airport’s website carefully.

Enjoy your trip!

Think of it as a bus with wings.

This . No luxury or frills , seats do look like bus seats , literally A to B .
