What is wrong with my skin😔 pics included

It’s really bringing me down now. I’ve tried lots of different products but literally nothing is helping. I’ve recently been losing weight and drinking lots of water but not even that has helped.

Would there be any point in making a gp appointment?

The pictures actually give it justice. It’s worse in real life

It is a bit hard to see - is it the skin surface (bumps) of discolouration - not saying you have either just guessing what is wrong.

doodleschnoodle · 10/06/2025 17:46

Rosacea? It’s hard to tell, is it the colour or texture that you are concerned about?

All of it really. It’s a mess. It’s bumpy and my cheeks are always red

OP is it itchy? Does it feel like acne?

doodleschnoodle · 10/06/2025 17:47

That’s clearer. It looks like rosacea to me. Have a look into prescription skincare services.

L00pyLou · 10/06/2025 17:48

Bumpy, rough, red skin is likely to be rosacea

Caravaggiouch · 10/06/2025 17:49

Rosacea, based on redness, bumpy and location. I don’t think it looks that bad either but only you know what’s normal for you. Skin & Me and Dermatica do rosacea treatments if you don’t get anywhere with GP.

Nightshadesdown · 10/06/2025 17:49

Yes get yee to the gp

DizzyDucklings · 10/06/2025 17:51

A random poster on MN suggested topical ivermectin (Soolantra) for my rosacea and it has literally changed my life.
Do a google or tiktok search for some reference. It’s crazy how little dermatologists suggest this but seems to be a common solution for rosacea.

shoofly · 10/06/2025 17:53

Yep, Soolantra has worked wonders for this for me.

Boreded · 10/06/2025 17:56

Looks like hives, so an allergic reaction to something.

Search for Urticaria and you should find a lot of different things that cause it

hellotomrw · 10/06/2025 18:02

Rosacea, inkey list azaleic acid worked wonders on mine only thing I have found that works

Looks like rosacea. Using lots of different products and changing them up will make it worse. This is good advice from Sali Hughes which talks about going back to basics: https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2019/apr/20/rosacea-best-soothing-treatments-inflamed-skin-sali-hughes

I have very mild rosacea (yours looks quite mild too) and I found using frangrance free products (not unscented, there is a difference) helped. I started by using just a gentle moisturiser and cleanser for a few months. Then slowly introduced a serum, tried that for a month to check reactions etc. You need to also double cleanse your skin in the evening with a gentle product, and wear SPF 50 on your face every day!!
