What was this about? WARNING: POSS HISTORIC CSA??

This all happened a LONG time ago, in the 1960s when I was at infant/junior school but it still preys on my mind every so often and I wonder what people make of this.

New school. I was about 7 years old and trying hard to make friends/fit in (as kids do). Our classrooms were prefabs and the toilets were a separate block in the playground. I was invited to a "game" in the toilet block by some of the girls (only girls) in my class. So of course I went along. I think there were about 6 girls, including me. No boys.

WARNING- DON'T READ FURTHER IF THIS MIGHT BE TRIGGERING FOR YOU.

The game involved each girl in turn taking off her knickers, then climbing onto the toilet seat and holding her dress up whilst the others stood around as an audience. A short song and dance then took place whilst standing on the toilet seat. Approval for the "performance" was then given by the ringleader; non-approval meant having to repeat the performance (I remember someone had to repeat for getting the words of the song wrong), but the nudity was the key part.

This all struck the 7 year old me as odd. My family had moved around a lot, this was my 5th school (yes really, at age 7) and I'd never come across anything like this anywhere else. When it came to my my turn, I refused (I'm still glad about this!). At some point later (that week? that term? I don't know) the teachers found out about this and the ringleaders got into trouble but nothing more was ever said to me, presumably because I hadn't been part of the gang or joined in.

Now I look back and wonder what on earth that was all about. I know children are curious about bodies; and the past was very much a different country insomuch as nudity was in no way acceptable, but I think many people were far more innocent that they are nowadays of all sorts of things.

And I wonder what was going on the homes of those little girls for them to think up this "game" - obviously now I wonder if any of them were victims of CSA. I still remember the faces and names of at least 4 of them.
