Do I need to buy different eggs? (sorry Burford Browns)

I feel sad going against Burford Browns BUT having cooked BB eggs almost daily for the past few months, I love the taste but cannot stand the smell they leave behind.

I typically scramble them. I hand wash the pan, plates & cutlery after and then pop them in the dishwasher but 9/10 times they just stink of eggs after the cycle has finished and then everything else that was in the dishwasher has the eggy smell too?!

The kids inevitably get some their scrambled eggs on our glass top dining table and honestly, my table stinks after they have had breakfast. No matter what.. I clean it right away with either (or combination of) wipes, glass cleaner, method antibac, I’ve tried the juice of a lemon, kitchen paper instead of cloth, you name it. It stinks of egg. It does eventually go throughout the day, but at first my whole kitchen and living area stinks of egg.

What am I doing so wrong?! Or is it just the eggs?! I never remember having this problem prior to buying BB…

I have other eggs (free range nice ones but not BB) and anything at all eggy that goes in the dishwasher leaves residual eggy dishwasher smell. I’ve stopped putting any egg residue things in there at all now.

But I don’t find a general lingering smell issue apart from that. Fine if I clean stuff up. Only the dishwasher.

eta I always do a first wash off of eggy things in cold water and soap to stop the egg cooking in the hot water, seems to clean it better.

@Talipesmum Thank you! I will try with just handwashing & save my dishwasher from the smell!
