What was this staff member doing in NEXT?

I was in NEXT last week and a staff member was walking about waving something over the top and around the front of the racks where the clothes hang. Does anyone have insider knowledge? I am so nosey and am still pondering this occasionally

Probably stock taking with RFID tags you wave it over the stock and it counts it :)

I’ve seen this too. I thought it was to identify stock so they could replenish but they would know what they needed from the till.
