I think this is a scam but I don’t get it….

A box arrived for me yesterday and I’m positive I didn’t order it.

First of all it caused family ructions because we are all cutting back…

when I opened it it was 3 identical (but different coloured) M&S baggy tops in a size 24. Almost look like beach cover ups.

Someone took a lot of time - recycled box, nice tissue paper with my address hand written

But I absolutely didn’t order these..!

I only use eBay and they aren’t from there.

Not drunken purchases.

The box has a return address on it … do I just send them back..?

How did they get my name and address…

I’ve looked up the return address and it’s not an area where I know anyone…

it feels like a scam
but I don’t know what the scam is…!!!

Don’t send them back yet. While it might seem like the logical thing to do, sending them back to an unknown address could be part of the scam or incur costs for you.
Document Everything:
Take photos of the box (inside and out), the handwritten address, any labels, the tissue paper, and the tops themselves.
Note down the return address exactly as it appears.
Keep the box and its contents exactly as they arrived.
Check Your Bank/Credit Card Statements: This is crucial. Look for any recent charges from M&S or other retailers that you don't recognize. Sometimes these scams involve making an unauthorized purchase on your card, hoping you'll just send the item back and they'll then claim a refund.
Contact M&S Directly:
Do not use any contact information on the box. Find M&S's official customer service number or email on their website.
Explain the situation: you received an unsolicited package with their merchandise, including the size and description of the items.
Provide them with the return address you found on the box.
Ask them if they can track the order using any information you have (like the return address, or if they have a system to identify unusual orders).
They might be able to tell you if the order was placed with a genuine M&S account.

Update -

eBay seller that I bought something else from had been in contact and she sent them to
me by mistake. No scsm - just someone making a mistake - she has been lovely about it and they are going back tomorrow..!
