There are different types of weed and people react differently to them.

As above…..I know people who have become extremely paranoid or ended up diagnosed with schizophrenia, but these people usually have mental health issues before they start smoking it. I know people who smoke it for medicinal purposes and it helps them a lot.

Alcohol is far more damaging yet it’s legal. I’m all for the law changing, let people make their own choice.

Moderation - fine, and possibly less harmful than 'regular' cigarettes or alcohol.
Daily smoking of super skunk or any weed with high levels of THC - not remotely fine.

I very occasionally smoke (couple of times a year) and have a friend who uses cannabis for pain. My DH has always used sporadically to to relax (rather than drinking - maybe a couple of times a month). I used to smoke a lot as a teen and have always been a bit on the fence about decriminalising etc. A recent trip to NYC was quite an eye opener about the reality of what that would be like. The whole city stank and walking through anywhere busy/touristy (Times Square etc) was pretty foul.

I still think legalities needs reviewing - but I am not for a blanket legalisation any more (as I used to be). It's anti-social and there are too many strains that are potentially very harmful to people's mental health and lead to psychosis.

Yes it does have a very strong smell.

If you get bind weed before it flowers then it doesn’t smell that bad. It’s actually quite a lovely, fragrant flower that bindweed produces, we should all take a moment to appreciate it’s beauty!❤️

I'd imagine it's likely chronic, prolonged and excessive use over a fairly substantial time period. I think cannabis has it's place medicinally for sure. I think it's less harmful than alcohol. But the mental health problems it may cause are concerning. Paranoid schizophrenia is probably the most major mental health diagnosis and those who have it have a higher chance of causing a threat to themselves (and others ) so not great.

Sad tbh as it could do so much good.

It’s legal where I live. Proper weed from a store doesn’t stink and they have other cannabis products that have huge health benefits. The UK need to legalise it.
