No switch for bathroom extractor fan (newish build)

Moved into flat recently but can’t find switch to turn on extractor fan. My guess was that it was one that turned on when you turn light on(light switch) however that doesn’t seem to be the case as it stays silent

My switch is outside the shower room, up high.

Mine too. Above the door frame.

Is there a window? In my new build there is a switch on the bathroom with a window but not on the one with no window.

Maybe it’s never been wired in and you need to let them know? My shaver socket never worked for that reason.

I think it's to comply with new building regulations. Lots of people turn off fans and extractors then complain about damp.

minipie · 29/05/2025 18:42

Maybe it is humidity controlled?

Our bathroom can comes on with the light, but it has an isolation switch outside the bathroom. It's up high and out of the way. Maybe your switch needs to be switched on?

Mine comes on when I turn the light on but the switch to isolate the fan is actually in my attic, though you said you’re in a flat so not sure if you can access the attic?
