Do you trouble applying yourself to other things when you have "a thing" to do?

Later on I have something not terribly difficult, but new and important to me to do, so I'm feeling a little bit anxious about it.

I have the whole day free and planned to get on top of chores, but find my self bored instead, and waiting until it's time to do the thing rather than making use of the time.

Yeah, not sure if its the anxiety or the adhd

But if I have something to do at 12pm, the day typically can't start until after x

Yes, absolutely this is me. I am so unproductive whilst waiting to be productive. Really need to break this habit.

I'm sure I never used to be like this. I was a good student (swot) and very driven in my career, very houseproud, and a pushy mum, motivating me to get loads done in a day, until I hit late 40s.

I know what you mean. I'm not at work this week (teacher) and on a couple of days I've had an appointment in the afternoon. I also have quite a bit of school work to do this week. Normally I'd faff about on the mornings, especially on the days I have an afternoon appointment, but I've had a total breakthrough this week.

I'm an early waker even at the weekend(usually 6:00 or 6:15). Instead of getting up and doomscrolling with a cup of tea, I've been getting 2hrs work done between 6 and 8! Once I start faffing around, I find it really hard to make myself do anything, so early is key for me. I'm feeling very pleased with myself Grin
