I train regularly for a sport. It's a very big part of my life. Currently I am injured and can't train, that is not good for my MH. I don't mean I'm on the edge or anything, but it makes me feel low.

Once a month, after training, we have a social where people convene in the bar for a hour or two. It's not a big night out, people don't drink much, most will be driving, but it's a chatty sociable evening.

I could go tonight, just for the drinks. There's a part of me that thinks it will do me good to get out and see people, but also I'm a natural introvert and going along always needs a bit of effort from me.

Yes! I would go. Nice to see your teammates and will cheer you up, I’m sure.

It sounds like the outing would give you a chance to catch up with people you like to socialise with.

And I think if I was in the group I would be pleased to see someone who hadn’t been around for a bit because of injury or whatever.

So yes I’d go, going on what you’ve said here.

You could always say to yourself that you can go for an hour and see how you feel. Pretty easy to make your excuses and leave if it's just casual drinks.
