Just opened my banana pack and found this. Do I need to burn the gaff down?

Your only real option here is to burn down the entire house, if you ask me.

Agree!

take it outside, hold it at arms length and pour just boiled water straight from the kettle on to it. when it falls off on the ground, pour more on to it for good measure.

Job done.

when I was at uni I briefly worked in a warehouse that imported bananas.

they come in huge long ‘trees’ wrapped up in brown paper

step 1 was to get a long, hooked knives and slice the paper off whilst stepping smartly backwards. Step 2 was to collect up the variety of spiders etc which then rained to the floor. Step 3 was to call Twycross Zoo and they’d come and collect everything interesting!

there were a LOT of tarantulas

Just shown this to my 18-year-old who's looking for a summer job. He asked if it was something that could be done from home 😂😱

Did they pick through the species and only choose the most interesting ones? What happened to the others? Free exotic pets for all staff? 😅

Am tucking into a late breakfast of banana and peanut butter porridge. I do like spiders though.

I would like to tell you that those deemed less interesting were sent to a lovely home to live out the rest of their natural lives……..unfortunately what actually happened was a short trip to the ether box :(

We used to have a banana warehouse near us. A work colleague regularly got called to come and collect tarantulas. He had LOADS.

It was Bristol Zoo for the fruit shop I worked in as a teenager..! It was always quite exciting when they had to come out, to be honest 😁

That's me done with my mid morning snack 😱

I'll switch to apples unless another poster is going to come and tell me about the scorpions hidden inside apples or something.
