Is it wrong that I don’t mention my daughter to stangers?

so I had contractors in my garden the past few days and have a chat with them and made coffee ect for them and something I also do for privacy and safety reasons is never talk about my 12 year old daughter to strangers. I also keep the conversation relevant to myself and only mention her if asked about her.

is this wrong that I do this?

Why would it be wrong? Are you outright lying if they ask if you have kids?

No definitely not if anyone ask me I then tell them about her. It’s just something I noticed about myself the past couple of days and made me weirdly question myself about it

What danger do you imagine will come to your daughter by mentioning her to someone?

Not wrong, but slightly odd and over anxious to do it deliberately with all strangers. Also surely contractors in your house and garden would see your daughter or evidence of her existence anyway?

I don’t really mention my children unless they comes up in conversation. Same as I don’t really mention my dog unless she comes up in conversation. But I think it’s weird and unhealthy to be anxious about it or think something bad will happen if you do.

I wouldnt talk to strangers aboiit my kids not because I think they would not find it relevant or interesting.
