Do I have some type of disorder?

For as long as I can remember I've had periods of obsessive thoughts. I get stuck on a thought over and over. I ruminate and remember minor things from 20 years ago. It's stopping me living my life

Google ‘Pure O’ and see if it resonates. It’s OCD, without the compulsions.

Where does it come from ? I'm on an ssri and it does help although I've never been diagnosed.

It definitely sounds like me when I've researched it.

I have also been asked if I have adhd before. My thoughts are quite black and white too I find

It sounds like it could be OCD. Although the term Pure O (which is what I have) is a bit misleading as it suggests no compulsions, when quite often the compulsions are just not ‘visible’ and are mostly mental. Thought neutralising, ruminating and reassurance seeking are some of mine and if you’re constantly thinking then it’s possible that’s happening for you too. SSRIs have kept mine at bay for years, so that also ties in.

And sadly, it can just happen, though I think pregnancy triggered mine.

I'm the same. Pregnancy worsened mine. My mental health was so bad I won't have another child incase it happens again. I can't really remember a time in my life I've not been.worried.
