Liberal Democrats working with the Labour government

In my personal opinion, the Labour government should be working with the Liberal Democrats to deal with the issues facing Social Care in England because the Liberal Democrats have got excellent ideas to make positive changes to Social Care.

But the public had the choice a year ago and didn't go for the LD ideas. There is plenty behind the scenes in committees etc as well as the debates and the opportunity to make amendments and if they see something they like they may well steal it. The joy of being a LibDem politician is that you don't have to fund any of your promises as the chances of you taking power is tiny, and if so it's probably as a junior coalition partner, so you lose the detail there too.

I was talking about the Liberal Democrats sharing their own ideas to help the Labour government tackle Social Care like dealing with the Recruitment and Retention crisis for example by encouraging more people to work in the Social Care sector.

Get Labour to work with the Lib-Dems. Chance would be a fine thing. The problems come from the Labour side.

The Labour government promised the public that they would fix Social Care during the General election campaign last year in 2024 before they won a massive majority.

I think it should be law that all Governments should be held accountable for what they pledge in their manifestos, with the odd exception like a pandemic, force majeure etc.. I'm sick to the back teeth of lying in politics; when people have bothered to vote based on a manifesto promise, it's taking the piss out of the voter when they don't carry it through.

Except this isn't how politics works.

Maybe it is the time for things to change in politics where other political parties work with the party of government to make a difference towards the people of Britain by working together as a team.
