Does anyone have a wood-burning pizza oven?

Would welcome any views or recommendations? Is it possible to get a domestic one hot enough?

We have the Ninja electric one. Was sceptical but it’s a Which Best Buy and got rave reviews so I bought it. It’s amazing! So quick and easy to use, makes perfect pizzas and it’s a smoker too. I cooked a whole chicken in it yesterday. It uses wood pellets to give the wood flavour. We use it at least once a week.

Yes you can get domestic ones that are hot enough to give the desired effect. Although it sounds obvious they get ridiculously hot and do take some upkeep to keep 'safe'. My neighbours have one and the pizzas are delicious, but it takes a while to cool and you need to make sure the area doesnt have anything nearby or overhanging as you would with any sort of fire. They're more work than they seem and I'm not sure id have one with young children (but people do just personal orefefence), but they are getting more affordable it seems all the time.

Ooni! It’s awesome.

You need to really enjoy pizza due to the effort.

it heats up quickly and they do a great range of accessories

We have an ooni. Bought it during lockdown to give our 'Friday homemade pizza nights' a new dimension. It's honestly the best/ most frequently used item we've ever purchased - we've even taken it on holiday with us (uk self-catering).
Takes a bit of practice to get the heat right, but once you've mastered it, it's so easy. Highly recommend

We have the dual fuel Ooni. When we have more time we use it with wood but if we’re in more of a hurry or feeling lazy we can just switch it over to gas. It’s amazing!

We have an Uuni - bought before they changed the name to Ooni. It's brilliant. Takes a little practice, but once it heats up, it cooks a pizza perfectly in literally 30 seconds.

Lovely- thanks all. I will look at the Ooni.

We have the ooni with the wood pellets. It’s absolutely brilliant ! You will need to buy a paddle if you want to make pizza and we also bought the skillet which is great for fajitas : steaks etc. Have a look at Lakeland as they often have the best deals

I would also recommend buying ready made pizza dough (M&S sour dough is lush)

Another vote for the Ooni - used it today in fact!

It certainly gets hot enough, I strongly recommend you get an infra red thermometer (not from Ooni, you can get them cheaper elsewhere).
