Can I put this hand-wash jumper in the washing machine?

Sorry for the dullest of dull posts, but I accidentally bought a hand-wash only top 🫩. If I keep it hand-wash, it will never get worn, but I do really like it and don't want to ruin it. I was wondering if anyone else has this, and has tried it in the washing machine? It's 100% cotton, so not sure why it would need handwashing anyway. Thanks!

I don't see why not. Might it stretch perhaps?

If it was me I would make sure it wasn't on the fastest spin cycle, and dry it flat to make sure it didn't.

I've put plenty of hand-wash stuff in the machine. Temp down to 30 and spin down to 800. Never been a problem.

Sling it in. If you can't wash it it won't get worn, so if it doesn't survive it'll be no different. That said, I don't see why it wouldn't.

Yes, I have this and didn't even look at the instructions! It's been washed several times on a normal 30 degree wash and looks the same.

Great, thanks everyone! It's going in....

I wash hand-wash in my washer all the time. I use large lingerie bags. If the item is heavy, tie a knot on the corner of the bag because the zipper because otherwise it may open.

my washer has a delicate cycle. Cold water and a very gentle agitation.

I’ve never damaged a hand-wash item with this method.

Wow, I've been missing out all these years on so many lovely hand wash only pieces that I've avoided buying like the plague. This could open up a whole new world of fashion for me!

Just use the hand wash or wool setting on your machine and a mild detergent and it will be fine.

Handwash and delicate programmes of automatic washing machines are a massive help. I never actually handwash anything anymore.

I know that you're all waiting with baited breath for my update....
I put the top on a delicate cycle on my washing machine, and it's looking absolutely perfect. Thank you for all your advice!
