I’m alone at home and I have to tell someone. We have a real problem with flies. I decided to buy one of those fly zapper things you get in food shops. It works brilliantly.

But.

Who knew fried flies smelled like that?

What do you do with the dead ones? Don't they drop behind furniture and stuff?
You may have an animal carcass in your walls or under your floor or behind a cupboard? Once it's fully decomposed the flies should stop, but it might take ages?

I was considering buying one and came to check what Mumsnet thought - as you do.

I was hoping they vaporise and disappear magically without a trace - it seems not.

Maybe best if I hang it outside and stop them on entry...
