Coffee pod machine … help!!

I want to get a coffee pod machine but am driving myself potty choosing. I love the look of the Vertuo Pop but they only use their pods. The Dolce Gusto machines are cheap but don’t use the Nespresso pods which seem to have a good variety. The Nespresso CitiZ look good but are expensive and I think don’t offer cappuccinos and lattes. I don’t have much worktop space. And I only drink decaf! What should I go for?

I think it’s more the cost as well as only drinking decaf. It’s a lot cheaper and maybe easier to grab some espresso pods locally

I drink mainly decaff. A lot of the Vertuo range has both options.

Slightly off topic but u just realised tonight that my Nespresso milk frother can also froth milk without heating it. I feel like an idiot for not spotting that. I often have iced coffees but being able to froth the milk will be nice.

Also a decaf only drinker! We got a old espresso inissia, they are discontinued I think but some places still selling them. They are the most basic nespresso old style pod machine. We get sainsburys own brand decaf pods or whatever is cheaper.
I was worried I would need a separate milk frother, but I've taken to having small Americanos with a dash of straight oat milk and I find the coffee is so nice I don't need the frothy milk.
The most important tip is, don't run all the hot water through the pod! Otherwise it tastes bitter. Run just the normal amount of water for an espresso through the pod, then eject it, and then just run hot water to top up the Americano.

I have a Nespresso Pixie, bought it second hand on Ebay but it's in excellent condition, barely used. Dd had a Dolce Gusto and I didn't like the decaff or the milk pods. I only drink decaff too. I alternate between L'Or and Starbucks decaff, I like them both. I use a small rechargeable hand whisker and heat the milk in the microwave.

Oh my goodness this thread has been useful. I didn’t realise how complex the coffee pod machine market was!! I’m thinking Essenza or Pixie

Or inissia or Citiz

I have a Nespresso one and a separate milk frother. I only drink decaf and the ones that use the original Nespresso pods allow you to use off brand pods which gives you many more options. I also only drink decaf and I like having more options and prefer the off brand capsules (though that is personal taste).

Thanks to everyone for your advice. I’ve gone for an Essenza Mini!!
