Any exams officers? Combined science exams absence

Not sure if there's any exams officers on here or someone that knows but DS is having health problems at the moment. In the event they have to miss an exam, the school have the evidence and are confident it's going to be ok (said I'd have to fill in a form).
I don't want to bother them with a what if question so thought I'd try here.
I understand the combined science grade is the overall marks from the papers. I understand that they're able to award a mark for absence if 25% of the papers have been sat.
My question is, what happens if for eg DS misses both the chemistry papers? Would that mean 25% hasn't been reached? Or are the other subjects taken into that calculation.

He might, with a medical certificate, be awarded an estimated grade. I think most schools require evidence. You’re best off trying to get hold of the exams’ officer-probably a bit crazy this week, there was English lit this morning, Computer science this afternoon, French listening and reading tomorrow, dependent on board. Our exams officer looks harassed!

Has he missed a chemistry or biology yet or looking to miss physics

@Tiswa @Cherrysoup already missed chemistry, looking like physics will be missed too. Have a letter from hospital already just not sure how it works with calculating it
