If you had some spare money to treat yourself...

If you had some spare money to treat yourself... would you buy?

I've worked really hard at work and have a good bonus coming (around 6k before tax, much much less after tax).

Most of it will go into savings, but I was thinking of treating myself to something nice before putting the rest away.

What would you buy?!

A holiday

HouseCaptain · 19/05/2025 23:10

I think I would go away somewhere too.

Silsatrip · 19/05/2025 23:12

I'm getting braces and tooth whitening, does that count.

I need some good jewellery.

Lesina · 19/05/2025 23:13

Go to Thailand and enjoy every minute x

Silverfoxette · 19/05/2025 23:14

Put it towards my car fund

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 19/05/2025 23:14

I bought myself a Nordic track elliptical. Probably not what you’re potentially considering though. … but a treat for me nonetheless the less.

RabbitsRock · 19/05/2025 23:15

A piano - I have a really good electric one but it’s not the same 🎹

Nellieinthebarn · 19/05/2025 23:17

A nice piece of art.

humptydumptyfelloff · 19/05/2025 23:17

Definitely teeth whitening I would do

a really good facial and massage

a slap up meal out somewhere really nice that I never go to usually.

a new outfit I wear

a night in a nice hotel with dh,somewhere with a good restaurant a stones throw away

and save the rest

RoseAndGeranium · 19/05/2025 23:19

Either a sofa or a walk in chicken run.

Latenightreader · 19/05/2025 23:20

Lego botanics Japanese maple bonsai kit. The colours are gorgeous. I'd love the Botanical Garden set too, but the former is more displayable.

mymindispuff · 19/05/2025 23:21

Loads of books

Indianapolice · 19/05/2025 23:32

These are all such good ideas, the chicken run one made me smile!

We already have holidays for the year sorted but the savings pot is actually to go towards a more exotic break maybe over Christmas or Easter 2026.

Teeth whitening is a possibility! The books we have a lovely swaps library at work that keeps me occupied.

Nordic track would be a dream! We have an old reebok treadmill at the moment which does it's job but something more substantial would be amazing but won't fit our tiny house.

A piano 😍 i have a roland electric piano and absolutely dream of the space for a real one, I'm too shy to play it unplugged though 🤣

a Thai Constellation monstera. Monsteras are the only house plants I seem to have any luck with, but the variegated ones are £££ and i can’t justify it. I’d spread the love by propagating a few babies for my friends, though.

i spent £3.5k of an inheritance on Invisalign and don’t regret that for a moment; not only are my teeth in the right place now, but it got me into a much better brushing/flossing routine.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 20/05/2025 00:09

Any of..

A (more pumped up) holiday

Teeth fixed

eyes lasered

a great piece of art

a good piece of jewellery

taking my sister away for the weekend in addition to the above

Tillow4ever · 20/05/2025 01:18

Hmmm - if there’s no debt anywhere to pay off, I would pick one of these:

A Radley handbag and purse (insert your own designer obviously).

a luxury spa day with massages

some nice new clothes - things that aren’t for daily essentials

robot vacuum cleaner with port where it all gets emptied etc.

iPad.

who am I kidding though - I’d end up with all sorts of random crap that I “need” off Amazon!

Enjoy treating yourself

Dunnop · 20/05/2025 01:45

I’d treat myself to hiring a cleaner to buy me some time to myself on a regular basis.

Babyenroute · 20/05/2025 02:03

A beautiful bunch of faux flowers that look real

TheAutumnCrow · 20/05/2025 02:26

Bosch dishwasher
Robovac thingy
Airfryer
Slow cooker
Mini microwave

There’s a theme

DestinationTravel · 20/05/2025 02:28

Go to Thailand and have a good time!
