I'm addicted! It's absolutely outrageous! Anyone else following it?

Where would we follow / watch / listen, OP?
I haven't heard about it, but am interested now.

Intrigued now!

A great YouTube channel to watch for commentary about the trial is Attorney Melanie Little

I've been following it from the first trial last year.

I find it incredible how judge Cannone handled the hung jury last year and that the verdicts of not guilty on the two most serious charges were just ignored.

Having watched the second trial I don't understand why the jury hasn't just returned an immediate verdict of not gulity on all charges. The prosecution hasn't even been able to produce any evidence that she made contact with him at all, let alone that she killed him. Jurors in Boston obviously don't understand what " the prosecution must prove their case beyond reasonable doubt" means.

As I write this they've been deliberating for nearly 8 hours. Fuck knows what they're talking about, but the longer they go on the more likely I think they are to convict her - which would be a total miscarriage of justice

Yes totally! Defense case was very strong and all Brennan proved was that the Arcca guy ate a ham sandwich! I'm sure they can't possibly find her guilty of any of the serious charges but maybe they are fighting over the DUI charge. John O'Keefe was not hit by a car and a car did not hit John O'Keefe!

Following as I got very interested when I was Boston last month. It was literally never off the television.

Not guilty of murder; not guilty of manslaughter; guilty of driving while drunk.

Sentence: 12 months probation.

It's unbelievable that the state tried Karen Read twice for murder or manslaughter on the back of zero medical and zero scientific evidence.

Somebody really needs to ask questions about the judicial system in Boston.

(As an aside, the instructions to the jury seemed to be designed to confuse and to puzzle them. No box to tick for not guilty? Just put a Guilty and a Not guilty box next to each charge and say you can only tick one box for each charge.

Simples... )

Unfuckinbelievable. How many people without Karen Read's defence lawyers have been wrongly convicted in Massachusets?

Acquitted

Yes exactly! She was lucky enough to have money to hire a fantastic defence team but others not so lucky. Imagine if they had tried to pin it on Lucky the plough driver as they possibly wanted to in the first place! Goodness knows how many miscarriages of justice there have been. I was so emotional when they heard the verdict. And at least Brennan didn't suggest jail time for the OUI.
