New kitchen/oven - anyone know if this will be an issue?

Hi,

We are just about to have a new kitchen fitted. We currently have an under - counter over, however we want to change this for a midheight oven. The current oven is wired directly into the mains ( all done properly by electrician etc). The new position of the new oven will be around 3 feet to the left of the current one. It is also one that will need wiring in. Will is simply be a case of wiring it into the same electrical point as the old one, using a slighly longer wire? This will of course all be done by someone qualified, but I am a little worried that this could be a bigger job that we thought.

Surely that’s up to you.
Either get the electrician to chase in a closer socket or use a longer wire

You don’t need an electrician though to plug in and electric oven to an existing socket . What are you paying him for ?

That’s an easy job for an electrician, don’t worry about it.

Very easy job even if they decided to move the socket along a bit.
