What shall I spend my two Audible credits on?

I need to cancel but want to 'spend' my two credits first.

I love crime/detective novels, modern politics etc, and am on maternity leave so recently enjoyed Emma Barnett's Maternity Service.

I need something that is okay to be listened to in short bursts!

Thank you Smile

I enjoyed "Everyone in my family has killed someone" by Benjamin Stevenson for light -hearted detective fiction that was great in audiobook form.

I’m listening to ‘The husband before you’ by A J Mcdine at the moment and it’s great.

You can get the entire Sherlock Holmes series (tonnes of short stories as well as the novels and novellas) for one credit, read by Stephen Fry. Huge recommend unless you already have them.

Do you like fantasy? I’m really enjoying the stormlight books by Brandon Sanderson. They are absolutely massive too so really good value for money :)
the first one is The Way of Kings

The Half-life of Marie Curie was very well performed. It's short so check if it's worth the credit.

I think there's current a bog off deal on, but maybe near the last day for it. You could get 4 books with your 2 credits.

I've just gone for a Jilly Cooper to relive my 80s life and a murder mystery that I like the look of.

Ive just finished The Homemade God which was excellent and in suitably small chunks so was easy to keep picking up as I got in and out of my car between work visits!

When God was a Rabbit by Sarah Winman - just finished it and loved it.

Poor by Katriona O'Sullivan. Heard her interviewed on Woman's Hour. It's bloody amazing.

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 17/05/2025 22:29

Have you done the Strike novels?

Bananaram · 17/05/2025 22:47

Strike series if you haven't already, or the Maeve Kerrigan series for another crime recommendation.

I joined Audible using the 3 months for 99p trial just so I could listen to Harry Potter, cancelled my membership after finally downloading all 7 books 😁

Do you have Spotify premium? If you do you can get 10 hours free audio books for any that are included in premium (which most of the books I'm interested in are). I don't get a chance to sit down and listen to audio books a lot so the 10 hours usually lasts me the month
