Fun magazines for 12 year old girls

Does anyone have any recommendations for magazines for 12 year olds girls?

My DD doesn’t have access to tiktok or YouTube etc so still has quite ‘young’ (12 yo how they used to be!) taste.

She still enjoys magazines with cover gifts so I’m looking for something more fun than the news type ones - something with a mix of articles on films, music, books, puzzles, advice for that age etc. Jacqueline Wilson was her favourite magazine but that stopped a while back.

Thanks!

Girl Talk?

Needmorelego · 16/05/2025 13:26

There isn't any really. They've all died out 🙁
Girl Talk is probably a bit young for 12.
Edit: Top of the Pops is still going. Despite it's name it's a general girly tween magazine.
But seriously.... that's it 🙁🙁

Thank you both.

What a shame 😕

I’ll have a look at both Girl Talk and Top of the Pops. Good to know that TOTP isn’t just about music.

There were so many around when I was younger, I loved them. And then when I was in my 20s/ 30s the women’s ones all came with really good free beauty gifts - I bought loads! Reading online really isn’t the same (imo) 😕

Not sure if teens out there are into zines these days but dd 13 uses the weareluna app - pretty close to a zine where they can read tons of articles (even short-form videos) about puberty-related things x

also recommend luna! I used to love Mizz, Shout and even those Bunty annuals but DD has no interest, luna deffo the closest fit and run by doctors x

I remember Mizz, Glamour all of them - they were the go to! I've not heard about Luna but just taken a look and it looks really good! Thank you for sharing

Just 17 for me. That's where I read to my astoundment that some women cut their pubic hair! J17 advice on this was "Trim a little if you must". I expect I would have passed out of they're was an article about waxing.
