Hi supersun

My Mam had ovarian cancer, her first symptoms were bloating, period like cramps and diarrhea

Ragruggers · 13/05/2025 21:15

Bloating, urinary incontinance were the main symptoms.Misdiagnosed but luckily saw another Dr who sent me to hospital.Surgery, chemo and recovered.I was very lucky.See the GP now don’t wait if it is caught early there is a good outcome.Good luck. The blood test CA 125 is not always correct you need a scan.

My symptoms started 3 weeks before being diagnosed with stage 4. Start was I couldn’t finish a meal - I was in Rome and eating a fabulous carbonara. Couldn’t finish it. As week went on couldn’t finish any meal and was sick a few times. Also had indigestion and gas and felt bloated. Also had some diarrhoea. Wondered if I’d become allergic to gluten. It wasn’t bad enough I thought anything was wrong and I was still walking miles everyday. Came back and bloating feeling continued. Was struggling to do my trousers up. Stomach still felt odd and much bigger. Was sick a few more times and other symptoms continued. After 3 weeks (and a visit to emergency dr and a useless call to 111) went to a&e but only because I was due to go to Costa Rica - I was still walking dogs 2x a day and some days, other that bloating, I’d feel fine.

A&E did a scan and blood tests and told me OC.

if you have bloating, nausea and diarrhoea go to A&E now. They got me into cancer pathway v quickly.

Hi supersun23,
mine was unexpected bleeding when I was pretty much post menopausal, it triggered a 2WW US scan and CA125. The US then triggered a hysteroscopy (normal) and MRI (not normal). My CA125 was always normal as I have a rare type which is what caused thickened uterine lining and the bleeding. so, yes I would say a USS is needed.
If you need support Overcome are brilliant
