Gift for parents with sick child

I have a family member with a child going through treatment for a serious illness. They have asked for space and so we're getting updates from another family member. We know they don't want to be contacted directly and we've sent good wishes through the family member, donated to fundraising, etc. They have lots of support from immediate family in terms of practical things. For people who have been in this position, was there a gift or something you received that you appreciated? Or did you just want to be left alone to get through it? We're thinking maybe a hamper of treats, or a voucher for a meal delivery company. Or something for the siblings? I'd really appreciate a steer on this one from anyone who has been in a similar position.

That's so lovely. I've been in a similar situation. I don't know what your budget is but I spent a fortune in the hospital shops, m and s, costs etc so a voucher for whatever shops your family member can use. Also my hands got really dry so hand cream was really good. If you can take the siblings out somewhere like the park etc that was always appreciated. Something to do in hospital for the parents and the child as hospitals can be really boring.

I think a voucher for a meal delivery company is a good idea - would be helpful for the whole family.

We've been there, how nice and thoughtful of you.
Cook/meal vouchers were appreciated.
flowers were not
Some simple board games for hospital were good
