Disparity in clothing sizes!!!

I’m doing some holiday shopping, I got some shorts from one shop, both a size 12 (I’m usually 12-14)
Went to the next shop and couldn’t do up a size 16 pair of shorts!!!
It seems crazy the sizes can vary so much???

I agree it’s ridiculous. What is the point of having size markers if there is no standard?

@caramac04 - I’m not a huge fan of shopping anyway 😭🙈 this adds an extra level of stress as I’m taking 3 sizes of one thing to the fitting room in the hope at least one will fit!!
It also puts me off online shopping as I would be ordering loads and sending a load back.

I’m equally annoyed by varying sizes of the same garment in the same shop. I bought two pairs of jeans, the same size. One was at least two inches wider than the other. I mentioned it and the assistant just shrugged.
