What kind of salary would I be on now

Just a matter of interest … 15 years ago I left the UK on a salary of 50k pa. I was a financial controller for a telecoms company.
What kind of salary would someone earning 50k 15 years ago be on today given a normal amount of inflationary increases over those years? Assume no movement up the ladder as that is obviously up to individual and you wouldn’t be able to comment on my potential.

fyi I am now happily self employed outside of the UK so just a bit out of touch and interested to know what might have been the case had I not left.

70k I'd say

That’s pretty exact. Presuming you’re not being sarcastic. Thank you.

Not sarcasm. The Bank of England has a calculator for it.

@WillTheSHTFsoon thank you!

That's assuming pay increases with inflation.

I am sure some people could comment on that

I reckon a financial controller salary nowadays, with experience in a mid to large company would be in the £75k to £100k range, depending on where in the country you look

So many variables, especially factors like location. A quick google tells me the average Uk fc salary is 60-75. You can’t just work it out on inflation as salaries don’t always increase in line with inflation. Although as a fc I’m sure you have the skills to know all the above and could’ve very easily googled it yourself.

Thanks. Yes should have mentioned that I was employed in Central London.

I could google inflation myself but was hoping for some opinions as well. For example… have salaries increased with inflation? Do staff get annual inflationary increases as a given? Maybe someone else earned R50k 15 years ago in a similar position and could comment on what they earned now and the factors that are attributed to the change.
