This is our second experience of GCSEs and our whole house is anxious. Will be glad to get the first one out the way tomorrow. It’s not helped as DD has SEN and sadly education system has let her down. She’s made great progress this year but sadly won’t be enough to get the pass grades as too many changes in school and not enough support. We just want some numbers on a piece of paper. Anyone else feeling the stress?
We have planned a nice walk this afternoon and DD is in charge of our meal planner this week. She’s chosen a pasta bake for tea tonight.
I’m so proud of her but I know bedtime will be tough tonight as that’s when she will start to worry more!!!

🍀 for her (and you!), op.

Yes!
This will be first experience of them. Fortunately DD not too stressed currently. Hope you get through the next few weeks ok. I’m looking forward to them being done. Will be nice to do more together rather than DD in her room with books…
I’m sorry your DD has been let down by the system. I work in SEN so have an idea of how tough it must be.

It will be ok OP.

All anyone sitting GCSEs can do is answer as many of the questions as best they can.

(We are cramming here so missing the sunshine)

It's our second DC going through GCSEs and tensions are high in our house. DD will be taking 3 subjects as she has been unable to attend school this year following a MH crisis last September. She is so determined to sit English and Maths, then a few more subjects next year. School have been pretty hopeless unfortunately.

My youngest has her first exam tomorrow. She has done a bit of revision today, but is feeling well prepared as she’s been revising steadily over the last few months, and school has been all revision and past papers for the last few weeks, so she is chilling out now. I can tell she’s nervous though.

It’s a stressful time for kids with so many exams.

It third time GCSE - second time A-levels and GCSE together.

They both really start this week - but TBH the biggest stressor been DH off on a trip with some iffy connections in country never been to with and language he doesn't speek so his stress been leaking out -once he left we all went for a long walk.

First time with A-level GCSE was worst school with GCSE was pretty awful before and after and eldest was really struggling. It worked out good GCSE and despite not getting predicted grades eldest go on course she wanted.

There some pressure both need certain grades to do what they want - but they've been revising for months. Do have to make sure middle child gets to sleep it's always hard for them - so tea and warm milk and shower.

Second time for GCSEs for us. A levels were worse for us although all turned out well. This year we have one doing GCSEs and one doing second year uni exams. 🙏

Good luck to all.
