Somebody’s trainers squeaking on the floor in Sainsbury’s earlier 😫

What does it for you?

OP posts:

People eating
Cutlery being dragged on plates
Heavy breathing
Sniffing
Car alarms or house alarms
Windchimes (although I quite like the wooden ones!)
Clicking on mobile phones
The tinny sound of someone else's music
Every single noise made in Peppa fucking Pig
The sound of my alarm
Beyonce voice

I am incredibly sensitive to sounds

BollickyBill · 08/05/2025 20:44

Eating with your mouth open.
Snuffling up your nose rather than blowing.
And presently I think DH may have post nasal drip so is constantly clearing his throat and coughing. I want to smack him with a shovel but he is heading to doc in the morn to discuss so may have to wait to have my patio redone.

BollickyBill · 08/05/2025 20:45

Oh and people scraping their plates with their cutlery.

Vitrolinsanity · 08/05/2025 20:52

Radios that aren’t tuned in

Vitrolinsanity · 08/05/2025 20:53

And whining at any age.

Commonsenseisnotsocommon · 08/05/2025 20:54

Falls nails /talons tapping against a mobile phone screen on public transport 😬

NDlife · 08/05/2025 20:54

When DH starts scratching/picking/whatever the hell it is the skin on his finger whilst his arm is around me. Makes me 😬😬😬😬😬😬

vipersputpaidtomylastusername · 08/05/2025 20:55

ChippySauce · 08/05/2025 20:31

Then he got out a banana 😫

@vipersputpaidtomylastusername is this an euphemism?! 😅

Ha!
At that stage I would have preferred it tbh!

I saw his wedding ring and I kept thinking 'how the chuff are you married! Omg, your poor wife ' 😅

Bobbydazz · 08/05/2025 20:58

The noise of someone filing their nails

cioccolata · 08/05/2025 21:53

Arlanymor · 08/05/2025 18:56

Males and sorry it is males, I have never witness a female doing this who do that loud snotty snort thing, like they can’t be arsed to blow their nose so they suck the snot back into their head. It is the most disgusting thing on earth.

This 💯

BlondiePortz · 08/05/2025 22:01

People who talk with a little bit of food i their mouth and there was an local news presenter who smacked their lips together after every sentence I had to stop watching in the end

CoodleMoodle · 08/05/2025 22:27

Sniffing
Hiccups (this is my worst thing)
People talking over one another (hello DC!)
Leaf blowers, drills, any sort of constant hum

Also my DC are older now but when they were babies and I was trying to get them to sleep (specifically in the buggy), they both made the most horrendous low whiney sound that I can't even describe but used to make me want to claw my ears off! I guess it was some self soothing thing but it wound me right up, sometimes to the point I had to put headphones in. I preferred the crying tbh... Neither of them did it for long thankfully but fucking hell was it annoying!

bigknitblanket · 08/05/2025 22:54

Sniffing
tea slurping
cutlery scraping on plates
snoring

kumamon · 08/05/2025 23:01

AusBoundDD · 08/05/2025 18:42

Very specific but the sound/feeling of a fingernail getting caught on seatbelt material 🤢

This!! If I accidentally do this it takes me ages to recover.

See also: nails catching on or scratching denim. Even thinking about it is 😩

schnubbins · 08/05/2025 23:04

Vocal Fry
it will be my demise when it creeps in everywhere

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 08/05/2025 23:06

All of the above

Plus

Mum, mum, muuuum, mummm, mummm, muuuuuuuuuuuum, mummmmm, muuuuuuuuuuuum.

AAARGH I've already said what 3 times. WHAT WHAT WHAAAT

Leafusbeus · 08/05/2025 23:15

The sound of someone eating crunchy food whether it be crisps or nuts, anything that makes a noise when the teeth bite down on it: it drives-me-mad!

JandamiHash · 08/05/2025 23:22

People gulping their tea/coffee loudly

”Talk burping”. You know when people burp and it sounds like words. Makes me want to stick a hot poker in my ears

The peppa pig bit made me LOL 🤣 😆 🤣

Imisscoffee2021 · 08/05/2025 23:45

People watching reels or vids on public transport, tinny trashy ear pollution. I used to listen to brown noise in my earbuds but have a toddler with me most of the time on trains so cant anymore.

And my mum eating. It's the noisiest squealshiest sound. She has all her teeth, I don't know how she makes the sound, but she gets furious if you say anything.

SweetBaklava · 08/05/2025 23:55

Open mouth while eating
Chewing gum
Loud typing
Snorting/hacking
Slurping tea looks at DH with murderous stare

CoolPlayer · 09/05/2025 00:14

polystyrene..I can’t even take it out of a box, knuckle cracking, sand paper on walls, knifes or forks along a plate. snoring but I have to live with that one..😂I could go on 😂

lovegoodlovegood · 09/05/2025 00:32

People eating when they’re on the phone
“oh sorry I’m eating muesli”
yes. I can hear it. And I don’t want to!

monktasmic · 09/05/2025 00:32

Polystyrene.
people crunching crisps or nuts or mints.
burping
my dog licking its bits

SquashPenguin · 09/05/2025 00:35

People breathing is annoying. So is humming.
