I was thinking about this as I had my breakfast today. I'm going to have some home-made soup and a cheese scone and butter. Both out of the freezer, so I had better get them out now. (It is nearly 8.15)

Soup is made out of leftovers and scraps of vegetables - I save them up in a reasonable bag in the freezer and then cook them together and whizz them up. DH refuses to eat it - most of the time it is quite nice.

Edited

I make this kind of soup too sometimes, more often in the winter. Usually a squeeze of lemon juice or some chipotle chilli sauce (or both!) makes it perfectly acceptable.

M&S mushroom pate/hummus with Schar flatbread
Nairns GF cheese oatcakes with Somerset Brie and pear and fig chutney/tomatoes

Shared with DW today and eating in the garden so even nicer 😊

Tuna and cheese panini, one of my favourites.

KoalaPineapple · 07/05/2025 11:44

Cheese and ham on kinda stale leftover baguette (in the office or I’d have toasted it!) with CHEDDARS the peak crisp

OrangeCrushes · 07/05/2025 12:07

They had some clearance special edition roasted pepper, lentil, and mascarpone soup at the Coop when I popped by earlier. Only £1.62 per container! So I will be having that.

lilaclemon · 07/05/2025 12:56

Smash burger and lots of slow sautéed onions in a brioche roll.
Spoiling myself today.

ItsOoooon · 07/05/2025 12:57

Leftover bolognese today.

Snugglemonkey · 07/05/2025 13:45

A high protein sandwich thin, cottage cheese with chives, an egg, 3 mushrooms and 5 baby plum tomatoes.

LeaveALittleNote · 07/05/2025 13:54

Chickpea and ochre curry with white rice. I used a Spice Tailor curry kit. (I have my main meal at lunchtime.)

What is a high protein sandwich thin?

Meat and beans sandwich that you've flattened?! 🤔

Homemade butternut squash soup, with some fried chopped chorizo and pumpkin seeds mixed in for a bit of texture. Sooooo good!

LindorDoubleChoc · 07/05/2025 14:54

Sainsburys TTD pea and ham soup and some fresh baguette and butter. Lovely.

AdaColeman · 07/05/2025 15:12

Sgtmajormummy · 07/05/2025 15:53

We had rice and tomatoes with cheese.

Pretty boring but it’s roast chicken, oven chips and veg tonight. Plus homemade vanilla and raspberry marble cake.

NorthernDancer · 07/05/2025 15:58

Fridge soup. Carrot, onion, garlic, red pepper, Marigold stock, salt, pepper and lots of parsley. Recovering from wisdom tooth extraction, so on a light diet today.

alcoholfreelife · 07/05/2025 16:28

There are some fancy-pants sounding lunches, I'm quite envious.

@HundredPercentUnsure oh absolutely!

I think an omelette and salad for me today. I am at home and trying to low carb AND trying to limit my spending as i spend way too much on food generally. I have a nice chicken soup in the freezer but am planning on turning that into ramen for the Dcs dinner tomorrow night.

Tearsinheavens · 08/05/2025 14:18

2 egg omlette with mozarella on toast and some Jamaican ginger cake with custard 🍮
