Anyone else seen the adverts?

You think you've seen it all but apparently not!

Snoozing fox
Good point , but it’s just the way they sing the words to the ad that makes me cringe! Then they show us their back sides. It’s not as bad as the lynx one though , granted.

It is a strange ad, but the Pepto bismal one is worse when the ‘ workers’ in hard hats etc sing the word diarrhea in a sing song kind of way ! ( might have spelt that wrong ?)

Yes!

THEMUTINEER · 06/05/2025 13:21

I saw a post about this the other day, awful disgusting advert, I was going to complain to ASA again but I thought what is the point? I complained about something before but was just ignored.

Seems to be no decency and morals and decorum anymore

THEMUTINEER · 06/05/2025 13:24

and I mean, really? If a man sniffed another man's cock where I live he would get the shit kicked out of him😂

Pandimoanymum · 06/05/2025 13:28

I've not seen the Lynx adverts so I googled..there's one where a bloke about to play basketball sprays it down the front of his short, and when he jumps up to throw the ball in the hoop, his crotch is right in some other bloke's face and he's SNIFFING HIS CROTCH 😬It's so grim!
And that cinema one, the guy sprays it on his bum, but over his trousers, what's that all about? It's a body spray, why is he spraying it on his trousers.
I can safely say that I have never had an unpleasant waft from a random person's bum or crotch when I've been out and about so wtf are these products even for?

the80sweregreat · 06/05/2025 13:31

I can’t use strong smelling ‘ smellies’ myself , but I’d have thought that using such products can’t be good for ‘ those areas’ of the body ?

the80sweregreat · 06/05/2025 13:34

I suppose it’s got people talking , so maybe Lynx see it as job done ?
✔️
Ads are (generally ) ignored if they are too ordinary or sweet , so it’s the shock factor that gets people paying attention to them ?

ItGhoul · 06/05/2025 13:36

It's one of the many products that has been conceived solely to make people think there is a problem that can only be solved by spending money on that product. In reality the problem doesn't exist, because it's related to body odour, it will make young men and teen boys paranoid/insecure that they smell.

A while ago a brand tried to popularise a deodorant for under-boob sweat and there are also products for both men and women that claim you need them to wash your fanny / cock and balls because we all stink.

The one with the "dog"
If so I find it very creepy and strange. On par with the KFC one 🤣🤣

The one where they seem to think that it's funny for an apparently gay woman to be assaulted by a bloke in a dog suit?

Yeah, that one's missing the mark. Hopefully.

Yes! See also: bacteria on your carpets. Fabric conditioner which doesn't smell strongly enough of fabric conditioner. Anti-bac wipes. etc etc etc.

the80sweregreat · 06/05/2025 13:41

Most artificial smells like this make my eyes water and I start sneezing. 🤧 Not the desired effect these products are looking for.

THEMUTINEER · 06/05/2025 13:42

just made me boycott Lynx, not buy it

the80sweregreat · 06/05/2025 13:44

DS 2 started wearing it once as a teen years ago ( Africa or some stupid name )
I used to have to open windows to clear the air after he’d gone out!

RaraRachael · 06/05/2025 13:51

I first saw the ads at the cinema - seeing people sniffing others' balls and arses on a 100 foot screen 🤑

Snorlaxo · 06/05/2025 14:02

Maybe it’s a new trend - spotted in boots …

what is wrong with soap and water and clean clothes???

On privates?
Do they mean members of the armed forces or genitals?

Simonjt · 06/05/2025 15:43

Feet, fair enough but after they’ve been washed. But putting it on your bum, penis etc is fine I guess, but if washed you don’t smell, plus the taste of it will be really unpleasant surely.

tothelefttotheleft · 06/05/2025 20:17

@Pandimoanymum

The other bloke seems to have his head there for ages. I couldn't believe what I was watching.

Serpentstooth · 12/05/2025 20:13

Those Lynx ads are repulsive. Don't 'spray' your lower body, wash it. And don't start sniffing the bums of random strangers. Vom.

ShiftySquirrel · 12/05/2025 20:25

Is a special separate deodorant needed though?
Surely if you'd spray something on your armpits, it would be fine to spray on the rest of you.

I'd be worried that someone would use it to freshen up instead of a wash 😱.
