I’ve got an ongoing skin problem and I’ve had lots of infections in it requiring several courses of antibiotics and it’s become resistant to a lot now.
I had a swab done at my hospital appointment on 15th April and they rang me last Monday to say I need this particular antibiotic and they were going to ask my GP to prescribe it. I asked at my nurse appointment (at GP’s), about it on Friday and they said GP isn’t allowed to prescribe it, and they would tell the hospital.
So then it’s the weekend and bank holiday so still no antibiotic. My skin is just getting worse and my blood test last week showed my white cells are raised and up from the week before.
I don’t know why the hospital couldn’t just prescribe them last week. Last time I had a swab come back as an infection from the hospital they prescribed them.
