When is best to buy a MacBook?

I’m after a 15 inch MacBook for under £1000, with essentially the best processor I can get in budget. I’m wondering whether to wait until August/September when unis start going back, is that generally the best time to buy?

If you are a student, think Apple sometimes do student offers, but not much.

They are worth every penny.

Following as I'm also curious

The macbooks are worth it but its so bloody expensive

Very seem to have some discounts on atm, I’m not sure if that’s a frequent thing.

15 inch seems to be adding to the price quite a bit but I feel this would be worthwhile for homework etc?

John Lewis are doing 15”MacBook airs with m4 discounted to just over 1k. I’ve only got an M1 but the performance is great- the m4 is apparently absolutely bonkers powerful.

I wouldn’t wait for it to get much cheaper- if anything they may go the other way depending on how the whole Trump tariffs thing pans out.

@Lonelycrabthank you, my work laptop is an M1 and I’ve always been pleased with it, I will take a look.
