What are your plans for this lovely BH weekend?

Inspiration needed!

Im usually so so shattered at weekend, I go from the sofa in between blitzing the house, doing the food shop, meal plan for the week blah blah blah!

So today I dragged myself into the shower, cleaned the bathroom, put on a wash load, put it on the line, went for coffee with a friend, did the food shop, cleaned the inside of the car. I’m going to clean everywhere in the house now, mop the floors etc today.
Tomorrow I’m going to cut the grass, get some pot plants for my pots, and do some gardening.

Would love a suggestion that does not involve cleaning or gardening for Monday.

What are you all up to?

Sadly I am studying, trying to remind myself there will be a million more sunny days and plenty of bank holidays when my studies are over.

Still holding a bit of a pity party for myself though.

Stillearninglife · 03/05/2025 15:38

Ahh no Happy that’s rubbish. Will you have any down time at all?

I’ve spent today weeding and sorting out all the pots on the patio, topping them up, fertilising and watering- there are about 20 of various sizes.
I’ve tied up the clematis and sorting out two climbing roses- they’re already out in flower which is really early.
Two loads of washing have dried on the line and the kitchen is tidy.
Tomorrow I will take ZDog2 out early for a longer walk then I want to spend the day doing some art stuff. It’s going to be markedly cooler apparently. DH will take ZDog1 to the village for a coffee tomorrow morning so it should be peaceful for a couple of hours!
Nothing planned for BH Monday, I’m happy to see what happens!

Perfect, just perfect Zippy. You must feel so accomplished.
Your garden will look just lovely after such effort.

Surviving! Trying to multitask between setting up my new laptop and transferring files etc, housework and scanning photos for my mum's funeral. Feel like nothing has actually got done!

Our local council has allowed people to close their streets for one day over the weekend for a street party, so one of the neighbours has organised one. We've done it a few times now and it's always lovely and chilled.

Am at my caravan so can’t see jobs that need doing at home 😁They can wait -bank holidays are for dog walks ,book reading ,eating outside and generally relaxing with DH and DD.

BethDuttonYeHaw · 03/05/2025 16:56

It’s 10C in Scotland so most of my plans are indoors in the warmth.

strugglinguphill · 03/05/2025 16:57

Working as usual. Would be nice to have some time off but can’t afford to :(

icebearforpresident · 03/05/2025 16:58

There’s a music festival happening where I am so I’m sitting in my garden with a book and a cider listening to all the music people have paid to listen to for free 😁. As it’s so nice and sunny we’ve got some burgers and will bbq them for dinner. Will do the same, minus the bbq, tomorrow. Monday will be all the boring housework before back to work on Tuesday.

Cleared out and reorganised the understairs cupboard, which is part of the decluttering of the kitchen.

I'll start on the conservatory tomorrow so it becomes a usable room over the summer rather than a dumping ground.

Haven't thought as far ahead as Monday yet.

IReallyLoveItHere · 03/05/2025 17:03

I am free all weekend, so many possibilities, and I feel overwhelmed so have done nothing today.

Well, long dog walk, 3 loads of laundry, ordered takeaway for dinner.

I had better plan the next couple of days otherwise nothing will change.

Lolapusht · 03/05/2025 17:05

Got lurgy.

DC have gone feral.

DH has buggered off for a week with “work” 🙄

Will have to drag myself to Markies for dinner as otherwise it’ll be Super Noodles & Doritos 🤢

Neurodiversitydoctor · 03/05/2025 17:11

Put wash on first thing then hung it out. Food shop this am, meal planned, made soup for lunch, ordered new night wear and cleared out old stuff this pm, booked a holiday just having a coffee before getting the wash in ahead of a face time with relatives. Tommorow going for a run, cleaning the house and more cooking. Monday meeting a friend for coffee.

Penko25 · 03/05/2025 17:14

We’re in Cornwall for the week. Will mostly be on the beach if the weather holds.

MagellanicPenguin · 03/05/2025 17:18

Just did gardening with DH today for 2.5 hours. Not sure rest of weekend, Mon have things to collect from shops and a call with someone on Monday. Tomorrow I think we will go out to a gardens.

faerietales · 03/05/2025 18:07

Working/house-sitting today - back home tomorrow AM. No idea after that Grin

Deathraystare · 03/05/2025 19:20

Work mainly though off day on Friday (felt like bunking off school) and Sunday I have free as well. Packing up stuff and tidying up mainly. Working Monday.

Itstartedinbarcelona · 04/05/2025 09:15

Picnic and walk yesterday with DH, have to give DD and her friends a lift to brunch with her friends this morning so am taking DS for brunch nearby. Cinema with DD tomorrow. And the usual cleaning, washing, relaxing etc in between.

Stillearninglife · 04/05/2025 18:48

It’s been so lovely!
I had an afternoon nap today after doing my garden. To be fair, I’ve been up since 4am thanks to menopause insomnia which just won’t seem to go away.

My pots are done, lawn mowed kitchen cleaned and shopping done.
Coffee with a friend tomorrow then more cleaning but I’d really rather go on a walk.
