£300 to spend at Curry's - what you getting?

Hi all

I have £300 to spend at Curry's (due to a voucher from work) and no idea what to use it for!

We have a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, air fryer, coffee machine etc so I don't think an appliance is the way to go. I am also a clean freak (diagnosed OCD!) so already have 3 vacuums, one upright carpet cleaner, a steam cleaner / mop, a bissell crosswave and 2x spot cleaners - so definitely don't need more even though my OCD heart would LOVE a new cleaning gadget!

I wanted the Hollywood Lazy Spa hot tub (and obviously would pay the difference on top of the voucher) but my DP thinks it's a silly cost and wouldn't get used much - he is probably right.

I can't swap it for another retailer, so hit me with your ideas / recommendations! What would you do with £300 at Currys?

iPad, Sonos speakers.

iPad, Sonos speakers.

I should've said, already have an iPad, laptop and a switch (though not a huge gamer). I have Alexa instead of speakers but a decent bluetooth speaker for the garden so don't think there's anything I need there!

The last things I bought from Currys were a Kindle and some noise-cancelling earbuds.

DancingNotDrowning · 30/04/2025 14:40

I’ve just bought a ninja creami deluxe for my DD? No idea if it’s any good but much in demand and would take a chunk of the £300

bramblefoot · 30/04/2025 14:40

I'm probably a bit boring but in those circumstances I'd see if it could be used for presents (eg kids, family) for birthdays or Christmas that i'd be buyong anyway and just use the cash equivalent on whatever I wanted elsewhere.

Jennalong · 30/04/2025 14:42

I'm sure vouchers stay valid for two years ( best to check when they got them )
If there is nothing you need / want now then put the expiry date in you diary / calender and put them away until needed .
Another idea is advertise them at a discounted price and then the money can be spent anywhere !

New shredder

ElleBelleLou · 30/04/2025 14:43

@GasperyJacquesRoberts a kindle is such a good idea, annoyingly I bought myself one just after Christmas! I have been thinking I need a better headset for work meetings when I'm at home - but then part of me thinks surely I can find something more exciting than a work headset to buy myself!

@DancingNotDrowning I went through a phase being desperate for a Ninja Creami so that is a goooood shout! How has your DD found it? I worry it will be something I'll use once, put away in a cupboard and just forget about.

@bramblefoot that's a good idea and my sensible part of my brain thinks that makes sense, but my impulsive part wants to treat myself to something sooooo exciting. Just no idea what - my head is too stuck on a hot tub 😂

@Jennalong I'd not thought about advertising it at a discount, thank you for that, definitely something to do if I can't find anything!

@LisaJohnsonsFacebookMole I haven't shredded anything since my one fleeting stint as a dental receptionist back in the day so I don't think a shredder will get much use sadly!

Bbq, lazy spa

Lentilweaver · 30/04/2025 14:47

Totally recommend Kindle.
A hair styling tool?

Lentilweaver · 30/04/2025 14:48

ugh sorry you already have a Kindle.

ElleBelleLou · 30/04/2025 14:49

@feelingbleh lazy spa is what I am fixated on but then I am trying to be realistic to myself at the running costs, space to have it out / keep it when not in use, would we use it etc?!

@Lentilweaver I am a complete beauty junkie so whilst I'd love a hair styling tool / beauty gadget I honestly think I have basically everything there is!

What about a robot vacuum cleaner I'd love one of them

CarmellaSopranosKitchen · 30/04/2025 14:52

A prawn biryani, vegetable Kofta, Shahi Paneer, Butter chicken. I mean the whole works with that much money..😂

NewsdeskJC · 30/04/2025 15:06

Get the hot tub.
It's what you want
