Meals you love/can eat often

I ate an omelette at Dishoom recently; it was delicious.

I've made it twice in a few days, and I don’t even particularly like omelettes that much.

I made it for dinner this evening and as I was eating it, I was thinking that I didn’t want it to end 😂 I love food generally, but I do have some
meals that I really love, and could eat a lot.

Does anyone else get like this?

I eat ko lee noodles about three x a week! With some chopped cheese through

Plump82 · 28/04/2025 21:25

Ramen. It's so easy, pretty healthy and really fills me up. I could probably eat it most nights but don't want to sicken myself!

Sausagerollandchips · 28/04/2025 21:29

I am really loving my homemade veg soup. I have made it every week for last month and it lasts me 3 days but I just don't get bored of it

longtompot · 28/04/2025 21:46

Mary Berry's potato & fennel gratin. I always do double & we always eat it all & wish there was more. I just do onion as a few here don't like fennel but it's still delicious

  • Pasta, homemade pesto, crumbled feta and cherry tomatoes
  • Turkish eggs
  • Lebanese pasta (spaghetti, Greek yogurt, crushed garlic, olive oil, dried mint)
  • Barbecued Middle Eastern meat skewers with all the salads and homemade dips
  • Greek salad
  • Pasta in a creamy rose sauce with prawns
  • Moussaka
  • Turkish "pizza"

The salad meal - carrot rappee, hummus or tzatziki, chickpea salad and stuffed vine leaves with flatbreads or pitta.

Toad in the hole with roast carrots, peas, sweet corn, stuffing and gravy.

Courgette and pesto pasta bake.

Caesar salad with chicken. Have it everyday for lunch in summer.

Cajun pork shoulder steaks. That’s been supper 3 nights out of 4 the last few weeks.

It used to be lasagne but I find things with lots of ingredients off putting these days.

Icantremembermyusername · 28/04/2025 21:59

I would eat chicken noodle stir fry every week if my family let me! I have loads of different marinades and sauces and love them all, but they say it’s “just” stir fry… Plebs!
In my own opinion, I do an amazing bolognese sauce which I could happily eat alone over the course of a few days, but it’s usually consumed by all in one sitting!

Wallabyone · 28/04/2025 23:17

Hmm, lots of things I really like here.
I love ramen too but don’t make it often.
As I’ve got older, cooking has become more of a chore, and actually, I almost always enjoy others cooking for me than my own meals 😂

Also love Turkish pizza - it’s been too long! My friend’s mum used to make it for us as teens.

Can you recommend a good Caesar dressing please?

Fish cooked in foil with lemon and garlic. Have a variation of this often and do it with rice or jacket potato depending on mood.

Enough4me · 28/04/2025 23:26

Gnocchi with pesto and olive oil, peppers and peas, easy weekday meal.

FinallyHere · 28/04/2025 23:32

Caesar salad with chicken or salmon or prawns, avocado

dressing homemade mayo (a doddle made in minutes with really fresh eggs and a stick blender ) capers, anchovies and Dijon mustard.

lamb chops and Greek salad, cabbage, tomatoes, feta, cucumber, spring onions and whatever else is in the ‘fridge esp chicory or fennel

steak and the same salad, lamb or beef meatballs for balance instead sometimes.

IReallyLoveItHere · 28/04/2025 23:32

Salmon fillet with chopped butternut squash, peppers and cherry toms all roasted in the air frier. I chuck on random seasoning or drizzle with chilli sauce.

Chocolate sea salt nut clusters. I have a sweet tooth but struggle to find things I like, I make these myself with decent chocolate and they're lovely.

FancyCatSlave · 28/04/2025 23:32

Creamy chicken and bacon pasta, we have it every week as it’s DD’s favourite. I never get sick of it.

I’ve just come back from Japan & would love to make ramen

I don't follow any recipes but it's really easy just to bung everything in. I do the same each time and it's this -
Tofu crisped in air fryer (I'm vegetarian so not sure how you'd prepare/cook meat)
While tofu is cooking I boil some eggs. I like them nice and jammy so bring water up to a boil, turn it right down low and add the eggs and cook for 6 mins then right into cold water to stop them cooking further.
Fry up some bok choy and at the very end add some soy sauce.
I use udon noodles from Tesco and cook them in the microwave with a tiny bit of water. Just cook them in the bowl your ramen is going to be in. Once hot I add a sachet of miso soup. The brand is itsu.
I then just assemble everything and while doing that, put some frozen gyozas in the microwave for a couple of minutes and add them right at the end.
I sprinkle some black sesame seeds chopped spring onions and some crispy chili oil over everything as well.

Rice with cheese.
Pasta with cheese.
Baked potatoes.
Fish fingers.
Chips.
Cornflakes with ice cold milk.
Tiger bread with slabs of butter.

All meals for me!

shellyleppard · 16/05/2025 21:25

I've recently discovered how to do an omelette without it breaking up and turning into scrambled egg.....so mushroom and cheese is my current favourite!! ❤️ There are some really lovely recipes on here though 🙂

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 16/05/2025 21:29

Pasta aldente with lemon, garlic and Parmesan

RatOfTheHighway · 16/05/2025 21:30

I have a tuna rice salad thing literally at least twice a week.
it’s just drained tinned tuna steak, mixed with white rice, any combo of veg/salad veg (the more the better!), mixed together with a bit of mayo and salt and pepper.
not sure why I love it so much 😂 I don’t even usually like tuna really.

Pembrokecrier · 16/05/2025 21:31

Tabbouleh
Chilli con Carne
Bean chilli
Roast Chicken

StarDolphins · 16/05/2025 21:33

Not really a meal I’ve cooked but I could definitely eat Crosta & Mollica pizza 5 nights more than once per week. I ‘make’ a salad to go with it so I feel more like a wholesome person!

AwakeNotThruChoice · 16/05/2025 21:35

Blue Dragon Pad Thai kit.

I rarely add chicken though. Just loads of veg. It’s lush. And really quick. Not exactly healthy though I doubt.

The Stromboli is the nicest salami pizza I've had. They've got so expensive though.

Some wonderful recipes here that I might try. I've bought creme fraiche for the first time in my life to try and make coronation chicken as a sandwich filler and just earlier today looked up a pasta and salmon recipe that includes creme fraiche so I don't waste any. Made myself a chicken, chickpea, coconut cream, spinach, green bean curry the other night that had a dollop of mango chutney in it - delicious. Will use the mango chutney in the coronation chicken. I'm in a rut foodwise so trying a few new things.
