Do you know this book from my childhood?

I honestly have no idea what it could be, I’m starting to wonder if it was a fever dream but I distinctly remember reading it and listening to it on tape.

All I remember is it was about a fairy/pixie/elf and had a name similar to Jinx or jinksy or something like that. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
It’s driving me insane and google is giving me nothing.

When did you read it?

DementedPanda · 27/04/2025 18:41

Sounded like an Enid Blyton book

When did you read it?

I would’ve read it in the 90’s but have a feeling the book was older than that

There’s a set of fantasy books by Sage Blackwood called Jinx. They’re only about 10 years old though

Neveranynamesleft · 27/04/2025 18:43

There is a book called the Wizards Apprentice it's about a boy called Jinx, he meets an elf and other characters, can't remember their names though....

Maybe Enid Blyton's Book of Fairies? Think there was a Book of Brownies in the same series too so could be either.

The Fairy Rebel, lynn Reid banks? Fairy was called Tiki and the little girl is Bindi. She leaves a rose every year on the girl’s birthday and there’s an evil fairy queen. Set in the 1980’s modern day.

The Adventures of the Wishing Chair? By Enid Blyton. Pixie was called Chinky (sorry).
.

He has been renamed Binky in new editions.

My guess is The Green Goblin/Feefo, Tuppeny and Jinx by Enid Blyton.

I’ve been googling all your suggestions and none of them are matching up to what I remember.

It definitely involved a fairy/pixie/elf, that I’m pretty sure was a female. She often frolicked around a garden with animals? I don’t remember any human characters.

Thank you for your ideas so far, I’m aware I’m not giving you much to go on!
