We had another photo of the (maybe historically understandable but still disgraceful) episode shown in pic 4 fairly recently. A very famous American woman photographer took that one - not sure about this.

Yesterday amazed me. The existence of the Berlin wall, and its history, was constantly referenced during my childhood and young adult life, and people not knowing that image and its date is - rather good really, it shows we've moved on. Which is quite hopeful.

That said, Vladimir Putin started his career in East Berlin, and he wants the old territories back, so not everyone has moved on. Maybe it's on the list of things we need to remember, like Americans being rounded up and imprisoned because of their race.
