Confused by this Norman Cook comment, help my brain understand!

I’ve just seen a clip online of Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim talking about support he and Zoe Ball gives to a local hospice (Martletts), which of course is wonderful.
But he explains his involvement comes from when his father in law passed away 10yrs ago and because they supported him and Zoe.

But according to Wikipedia Johnny Ball is still alive?!

So, does Wiki have it wrong and Johnny Ball is no longer with us?

yes yes I know this is a silly thing to be bothering about but I’m tired and hungover and used to love Think Of A Number when I was little.

Perhaps he means his FIL from his first marriage?

Perhaps it was her stepfather. According to Wikipedia Johnny Ball and Zoe's mother divorced after a short marriage, so Zoe would have been very young.

Saw Johnny on television recently, he was most definitely alive.

Yes this could be it. I just read that her mum died last year too and was in hospice care.
