wise bank money transfers overseas recently

Is Wise best option for money transfer overseas? Have their terms changed? Are there any better options? For Europe but not euros if it makes a difference. Thank you

I did a transfer with WISE last week which went smoothly and was relatively easy (main reason I use Wise). Can't comment if it's best, I think the cheapest option for large amounts (large might be > £4k ? ) is usually asking the origin bank to do it for you using their usual systems ... by the time the origin bank have done all their due diligence checks (ARE YOU SURE YOU AREN'T A VICTIM OF FRAUD x 20), and then asking my relative to help which would take a lot of their time by going to the origin bank in person and then there are large time zone differences .... omg, I can't be arsed, I'll just pay the extra charges that happen when using WISE. hth

I have been using Wise for years and am really happy with them.

I use them for smaller amounts and they are good. For large amounts I went through another forex company I had previously worked with, just in case

I’ve done way too much research on this. Wise is transparent, yes, but their rate markup on some non-EUR transfers can quietly add 0.5–1%. That adds up fast on larger amounts. Ria Money Transfer sometimes undercuts them because they’ve got a big payout network and negotiate rates differently. Worth checking both side by side before you click send
