Good Morning All! What's everyone doing today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. Flippin' Mountaineer Cat knocked something over at 5:30am so I've been snoozing on and off since then, then shot out of bed with dd1's work alarm at 7:30, so gave up & came downstairs 🙄.

I've fed the cats and put the washer on so far. Next I plan to just sit for an hour or so, probably in the garden, and enjoy the quiet. Dd actually does need to move in the next ten minutes so I'll give her another shout before I go out.

My plan for the day is to try and finish at least one set of peg dolls, ready to varnish them. There's a set of two that are almost done, so maybe I'll manage to finish the Not Now Bernard ones too! I also want to find some lighter trousers to wear to work this week - I have two pairs but could only see one when I had a quick look yesterday 🤷‍♀️.

Dd2 needs to tidy her room for the week, so I'll set her on with doing that when she gets up. It shouldn't take her too long & I'll see what else she fancies doing, if anything.

We're having roast chicken for tea, not sure what with yet. We haven't had a roast in a few weeks, so maybe a roast, even though the forecast is warm.

After that, it'll be my usual Self Care Sunday scrubby everything shower - face mask/hair mask/shave/relax under the water for a bit longer than usual 😊 lovely! Followed by an hour or two with my book or crochet, then an early night ready for the first full week of work since the start of term 💤.

What about all of you? 🌞

I’m about to hang out the washing and then off to my group exercise class. Then will come home and do hoovering/clean the bathroom, eat lunch, walk down the high road and watch dd in the St George’s day parade, then home for a lighthearted film, and toad in the hole for dinner. It’s the only day that dp and I don’t work so will be a lazy one.

CalicoPusscat · 27/04/2025 08:41

I got up then went back to snuggle and rest. It was gorgeously warm

mamaduckbone · 27/04/2025 09:00

Good morning @lucysmam and all.
I'm feeling a teeny bit fragile after a very late night and a few glasses of fizz at a friend's birthday so haven't really moved yet.
There was a bit of added drama when we got home and Dh found the hamster in the bathroom! Somehow she'd managed to chew her way out of her cage - it's a miracle we found her as our old house has so many places she could have disappeared into. So I guess today will be working out how to stop that happening again!
Not much else on the cards - a bit of gardening, a bit of school work, making sure ds2 is ready for his German oral exam tomorrow and pulled pork for tea.
Happy Sunday!

Good morning Lucysmam and others. It's wet here in central Scotland so no hanging out washing. I've had two coffees and a cuppa with a slice of toast. Today will be a quiet day. I'll do the housework I should have done yesterday but couldn't be bothered with, and make soup in the slow cooker. I'll stew some rhubarb too for a crumble later. Trout fillet for dinner. Enjoy your day

sciaticafanatica · 27/04/2025 09:40

Pottering in the garden and then lunch out.
its a beautiful day in Manchester

BlueEyedBogWitch · 27/04/2025 09:43

I’m going to potter about in the garden and greenhouse for a bit.

A spot of yoga.

Then I’m being taken out to lunch by an ex-student as a thank you for some tutoring 🙂

Then off to the stables to check on my very pregnant mare.

DilemmaDelilah · 27/04/2025 09:44

Good morning @lucysmam and everybody. I have only just woken up as I have had several had nights in a row so I took a pill last night. However - I AM up and dressed and in the kitchen at the table. Mr Dilemma is cooking me a couple of rashers of bacon and an egg, which I will be enjoying shortly. I will follow that with a crusty roll spread with Clover light (which is, to me, the best low fat butter alternative) and my home made hedgerow jelly. I did consider croissants, as we have some in the freezer and I don't usually have them as they are not breakfast-in-bed food, but we bought the crusty rolls yesterday so they need eating while they are still nice.

Plans for today.... Well after going to Tesco for a wok yesterday I was exhausted, so we didn't get to clear out the desk spaces we were meant to do, and that is this morning's job. I may also put the office furniture onto Facebook at a cheap price, as I would like to get rid of it within the next 2 weeks. Otherwise.... I expect we will find a nice film to watch on the television, I will continue to crochet/knit 'squares' for the blanket in the new spare room, and a nap will probably come in somewhere. Oh, and there will probably be a load of washing to do.

Sausage, mash and cabbage this evening. We have some really nice good quality pork and caramelised onion sausages from an online butcher and I'm looking forward to those.

Thislittlekitten · 27/04/2025 09:48

Morning all.

Standing at rugby side with DS. Be here for a few hours. We were up early but morning has ran away.

This afternoon having tea at my parents I’m happy not to be cooking.

Then home to get everything ready for work and school.

SugarPlumpFairyCakes · 27/04/2025 09:51

Up at 6.

Took ds to the meeting point for his school trip to Austria at 6.45.

Walked the 5kms with the dogs.

Quick trip to supermarket and staggered by how much I spend every time!

Unpacked shopping. Hung up laundry. Another load on.

Breakfast. Am going to have a small snooze now.

Zippedydodah · 27/04/2025 09:54

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone, it’s now a lovely sunny morning after a very foggy interlude. It was bright sunshine when I woke up, I took ZDog2 out and the clouds descended more and more until it was laggy and cold.
I have hung out the washing, put away a grocery delivery, prepared dinner, cleaned the fridge, sorted out my drawing stuff and just having a coffee before I go and do a bit of gardening- there are some magnificent clumps of dandelions in the front borders that need pulling out before they set seed.
DH is doing his usual Sunday morning trip to the village where he’ll sit and chat to anyone who passes while having a coffee. He’ll take ZDog1 for a walk while they’re down there.
Lamb shanks, swede, new potatoes, roasted parsnips, green beans for dinner 😋

Topsy44 · 27/04/2025 10:13

Good morning Lucysmam and All

An easy day here - am watching the Marathon with a coffee and then later will hope to be out in the garden for a bit (lovely day here in the SE).

Enjoy your Sundays all!

JingsMahBucket · 27/04/2025 10:20

Morning @lucysmam and everyone. I was up early today and already had my own scrubby shower. I washed and conditioned my hair and exfoliated all the things! I’ve emptied the dishwasher of clean items and loaded up the dirty ones. Before showering I put a load in the dryer and it’s almost done I think. I’ve also seasoned and marinated the chicken for dinner tonight.

In a few minutes I’ll head out to Iceland and M & S for some items to last us through the end of the month. When I return I’ll crack on with some work and bake a frittata as well. I’m itching to bake something but not sure what. OH is doing an outdoorsy trip/hike with a vegan friend tomorrow and I might make something the friend can also eat.

Alright, let me head out and start the rest of the day. @LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand it’s also wet and gloomy here in western Scotland so it’s a good day for pottering. 🙂 Everyone have a lovely day!

Peridot1 · 27/04/2025 10:24

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone.

Been up for a while as usual. Had some tea and toast. Had a nightmare trying to get on to the NYT Games app to do my normal puzzles. Can’t start the day without them! Finally sorted it.

DS brought his washing down so some of that is on. Will change his bed too and hopefully get it dry outside.

I need to empty the dishwasher too. And I’m planning on mowing all the edges in the back garden.

I was going to go to the gym but I might just do some strength exercises at home before my shower. And I want to put a colour in my hair. Nothing too dramatic- I’m grey and bought a “silver enhancing” semi permanent. If that doesn’t brighten it up a bit I might go back to getting some highlights as I’m on the fence as to whether I like the grey.

I didn’t start the knitting I was going to start yesterday so might get to that this afternoon. Dinner is chicken - a Nigel Slater recipe - with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese and peas.

InglouriousBasterd · 27/04/2025 10:33

Morning all! Had a lie in but my sleep is terrible at the moment. Kept getting hot and cold all night so tossed and turned until I gave up! Had porridge with berries and a coffee and will finish off the bit of housework I ran out of time for yesterday, then off to the cinema and maybe a wander around town. Home to colour my hair and potter about until dinner - gammon, sweet potato mash and roasted veg.

Wishing you all happy Sundays!

mechanicalpencil · 27/04/2025 10:49

Morning all!

I finally had a great sleep … recently not been sleeping too well at night- lots on my mind and it seems as if I even let the thought /worry of “I’m not going to sleep well tonigh again” flit across my mind then that’s it ..I can be guaranteed a poor night’s sleep.

Had tea and crumpets in bed and read the paper.

Soon will be putting a wash on as a lovely day outside and I think I might brave a T-shirt today!

Most of today will be spent studying but lunch, afternoon tea break and dinner will all be in the garden. DH is cooking his fab spaghetti for lunch which I love.

A luxurious “home spa” tonight with a candle and face mask.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Andnowshesatoddler · 27/04/2025 10:51

We're waiting in for a delivery today so not a lot is happening here hopefully my little girl will go down for her nap soon I might join her for a snooze.
Have a lovely Sunday all.

Hotafternoon · 27/04/2025 10:59

Sitting in the garden enjoying the peace, I doubt I'll do anything at all today. 😎

OneLilacEagle · 27/04/2025 11:13

Morning! Enjoying a very dreich trip to the Isle of Mull today to watch DS play rugby. We brought the car so afterwards we'll have a wander round Tobermory and maybe head up to Calgary Bay. Beans on toast for dinner as we won't get back till later. Have a lovely day, everyone!

Toomanydogwalks · 27/04/2025 11:56

Morning All
I’ve taken the dog out, now throwing the ball for her in the garden.
We’re having Easter roast lamb for dinner since we missed out last Sunday: went to Sainsburys yesterday and the lamb was still on offer; thought I’d missed the boat for that one.

claudiawinklemansfringetrimmer · 27/04/2025 13:04

Afternoon :) Last day of the Easter holidays so taking it relatively easy here. DD has mostly been vegging with tv but I’m going to drag her out to the park in a bit since it’s a nice day! Have hung the washing out and cleaned the kitchen

Tonight the kids are staying at my parents so DH and I are having a date night! We’re going to pizza express and seeing The Amateur at the cinema, both my choice. We’ve had vouchers for both of them for about 6 months and every time we’ve tried to go we have been foiled by child illness! So cross your fingers for me that nobody comes down with the plague in the next 5 hours

NormasArse · 27/04/2025 13:06

I’m sitting in my swinging egg chair, in the garden. The dogs are out here lying around too. It’s glorious! The birds are very vocal today! ☺️

Crunchymum · 27/04/2025 13:11

Beautiful day here.

Windows and doors wide open, 2 lots of washing done and drying.

Girls have gone swimming with daddy (they've gone to the bigger pool with the big slide and wave machine etc) then they're having a picnic.

Oldest has met a friend and they are going to Waga's for lunch - quite interested to see how this pans out actually. Two 12 year old boys having their first lunch out without a parent (mine doest even really like Waga's 😂)

I've got the London marathon on the TV and my summer tunes on whilst I'm batch cooking / pottering.

Later we will just be chilling. Spag bol for dinner.

Rainbow1235 · 27/04/2025 13:30

Afternoon was up early so cleaned thru sorted washing went out for a carvery and just back sitting in sun for hour before we head to hospital as visiting starts at 3 . Beautiful day here in south wales

RabbitsRock · 27/04/2025 13:59

Late to the party - good afternoon @lucysmam & everyone. On our way home in glorious sunshine which is a total contrast to driving up yesterday in the rain & mist. Torville & Dean was fantastic although I enjoyed it more than DH. Couldn’t believe I actually saw them live! We were both shattered when we got back to the hotel but had a quick drink before retiring to our huge bed! Lovely to relax this morning & we had a really good breakfast with a splendid mug of Twinings. I do love my tea! Collected DD16 from Gloucester services. The farm shop there is incredible although eye wateringly expensive for some things. I bought a bottle of AF Chardonnay, pear juice & an aluminium water bottle ( refillable). Oh & giant hot cross buns! I’ve also bought a Paddington tin mug from another services which I absolutely don’t need but is super cute. It was the last one on the shelf so clearly meant to be! We should be home around 4 then pottering. Might sit in the garden for a bit whilst DH sees to the bunnies. I didn’t plan a meal when I did my list for the week. Probably have beans on toast or maybe a Cathedral City ready meal which can be heated from frozen. Catch up with BGT tonight.

RabbitsRock · 27/04/2025 14:03

Peridot1 & InglouriousBasterd you’ve reminded me to book a colour. I have so much grey. I’ve been like my DF for years, with hardly any at all, but as my last colour faded I was really noticing it.
