Is it easy to inadvertently follow people in tik tok?

The fuller story is I just joined tik tok.

My dh is already on tik tok and his account isn't private so you can see who he follows. All our sons (older teens) follow him.

I looked at who dh follows to get ideas of people to follow as we have similar interests. It turns out quite a few of the people he follows are young women titilating for thier 'spicy adult' accounts.

I'm pissed off by this, because I don't think DH should be letting his sons see he looks at that. I think it's really disrespectful to me.

He said he doesn't look at that content and he must have inadvertently followed them but he has removed them as a precaution.

Does that sound likely?

Technically yes by clicking on their little picture where the red add button is but it’s unlikely to do it to the same genre multiple times. Plus the algorithm shows you more of what you’ve been watching so if he’s seeing a lot of these creators it’s pretty likely that it’s because he’s been watching/liking/commenting on them.

I'm not so fussed he has looked, but that my children can see he looked. If that makes sense.

Then that I feel he bullshitted me with his reply and that pissed me off more.

But then I thought, I am genuinely new to tik tok and maybe he wasn't bullshitting.

I accidentally follow accounts on TikTok all the time.
I dint believe your husband though.

I follow so many people by accident on Tiktok. When your scrolling it’s so easy to press the red plus by their photo, you don’t have to go to their profile at all.

So it is slightly possible he isn't telling porkies then

Unfortunately it looks like he is lying. Maybe one or two could be “accidental” but a few seems to be deliberate.

I've followed women before because of an unrelated video they made which I liked. I then realised what their channel was about and unfollowed.

Have definitely followed people my mistake too but it seems unlikely if there are multiple.
