Where is your Rightmove fantasy search?

Looking for inspiration! I live in London but sometimes fantasise about living in a market town or a more rural location. For some reason in my fantasy I still need to have access to a train line back to London and be walking distance to a shop! So my go to fantasy locations are:

Chichester and surrounding villages
Lake district
Bath
Frome and Stroud
Exeter

I like to imagine I have a cool half a mill and see where I can end up! I may now have exhausted these areas and actually feel like I know them quite well … where is your fantasy location and where else can I look?!

I’d like to move to the Lake District but it’s too rural for me to leave London for! We have actually decided to leave London and move to the south coast - we have £600k budget but can’t agree what sort of place we want or where!

I have spent years in my spare time looking at houses on seafronts. I mean right on the seafront. In February I noticed a small 2 bedroom rundown house on a sea front that needs lots of tlc. It's at Withernsea. I'm buying it. Coincidentally another poster on MN stayed in the house next door last week on holiday. I can't wait to spend weekends there waking up and looking right out over the sea.

It’s the area where I live. My current location is ok but the house is not exactly my dream house. However the area has pockets with really nice (and expensive) houses so it worth checking just in case I win the lottery. 😉

I just picked places by the coast one by one and searched putting in sea views in extra box.

I am a Londerner and that is where I will stay BUT if I won the lottery I would buy in the New Forest as I have family and friends there.

I used to work with a lady from Scotland and as My great Grandfather came from the Ilse of Harris I would look for places there - just for a fantasy. She would also look for places but in other areas (she lives in Scotland now). We used to hoot over the decor - always very busy and lots of blue floral, so when she moved I said I would insist on her having a blue floral guest room for me. She didn't!
