Weird issue - my mouth feels really grainy

You know if you've eaten a bounty and you're stuck with coconut for ages? My mouth feels like that. Every time I eat, I get an itchy feeling at the back of my tongue or numb patches, and then for about an hour or so after, my saliva is full of teeny lumps - my mouth permanently feels gritty. They're white/yellow in colour.

TMI but I've spat into a tissue and there is definitely lumps there - a lot. It just looks like the sleepy dust you get at night, but it's in my mouth.

My nose is fine, just a bit dry and painful. Don't normally get allergies. It's 300 times worse if I eat anything salty, sweet, citrusy or with an otherwise obvious flavour or texture.

It's bloody annoying and irritating and weird. What could it be? My mouth is otherwise totally normal, I brush my teeth, no lumps or painful bits etc. No signs of thrush, etc.

Past experience with 111 would tell me they'd do nothing, or tell me to go to A&E... I'm at a total loss. I've asked chatGPT haha which said maybe I'm allergic to something in the air. But would that cause gritty saliva?!

Might this be thrush?

your gonna have to ring the doctor then for a answer .I hate having to ring the doctor its a absolute lottery i had to ring up a few times before i got a appointment yet i have other stuff i need checked and that would require me ringing again because you can only talk about one thing

i have issues with my stomach ,issues with my bowels, issues with piles ,issues with eczema and so far i have to deal with the more immediate issue of my copper coil moving about .You ring on the hour and where you end up no ones knows 99th or 50th in the queue who knows

Have you changed your toothpaste? Or mouthwash? Or maybe you’ve become allergic to the ones you use? Someone I worked with used a toothpaste that made the skin inside her mouth peel and her mouth felt gritty. Once she used a different one, her mouth was back to normal within a couple of weeks.
