My daughter turns 8 soon and has asked me for a telescope. Would love some recommendations please! Budget around 150-200. Thanks!

A good quality tabletop Dobsonian is the way forward for those small of stature. And a copy of Turn Left At Orion.

A good pair of binoculars (Celestron or similar) would be a good start and much easier to mange than setting up a telescope. You can get apps on your phone/tablet device than are brilliant for identifying the night sky.

I think keeping binoculars steady might be tricky for an 8 year old (I find it tricky myself) but if you did go binoculars, a tripod would probably help.

Check secondhand too, lots of people buy equipment that is barely used
