There are many on here interested in Irish news. Shocked this morning to see how the Irish Independent has announced the Pope's death. I'm not looking for fawning or brown nosing but a little respect but no all the commentary is -ve.
Can anyone suggest where I can get balanced investigative news for Ireland and beyond.

Try BBC news.

The Irish independent obituary writer should be reminded that not every leader is like Charlie Haughey was.

What is it you’re actually objecting to in the article?

How has the Irish Times reported it? RTE news? Given that the pope’s death is not ‘Irish news’, why not just look at any other world news outlets -+ the Guardian, BBC, Al Jazeera?

I fail to understand the problem here.

For anyone who cant see any problem let's compare it to the reverence shown to Queen Elizabeth. I'm not looking for anything other than the same.

So you don’t like the comment on his term as pope - turbulent and divisive? And the comment on the institution itself?

Thanks all. Have found a range of sources now. Just wanted a balanced commentary on his life and the selection process.
