Family Xbox games - year 4 child

We have just bought an Xbox for the family - I am not really familiar with gaming at all as it's never something I had as a child so it all feels very unknown to me. My son is 9. What sort of games do kids this age like to play? I've heard about minecraft. I'm not keen on shooting games. Something cooperative we could play as a family would be nice. I remember playing the Sims on my friends PC back in the early 00's, that was quite fun!

My husband has set up all the privacy settings so there'll be no dodgy messaging from strangers or anything like that.

Not cooperative, but if he likes driving games, the Forza Horizon games are incredible. No boring race circuits or pitstops, just exhilarating arcade racing, through cities, deserts and jungles. Or just drive around taking in the scenery. If your Xbox is digital only (doesn’t have a disk drive), the only one you can get is Forza Horizon 5, set in Mexico and the original, set in Colorado but if you have a disk drive, you can get used copies of 2,3 and 4. They are all brilliant and easy to play, but need no car knowledge.
