Did you know you can adjust your glasses at home?

This has been such a game changer for me I feel the need to tell everyone I know. I ALWAYS struggle with getting new glasses fitted and a recent pair I took back to specsavers about 6 times with no success - too tight, too loose, hurting the bit behind my ear, not sitting straight etc etc. It’s frustrating, time consuming and embarrassing and I always feel like the princess and the pea saying “ooh no that bit still feels weird”.

I bought some glasses online because those ones broke and heated them up with boiling water and have been adjusting them myself extremely successfully. You can go back as many times as you like to your own kitchen and try them out for a bit before you decide if something is wrong. Obviously you need to be careful you don’t break them but this has honestly changed my life so much I feel like everyone needs to know lol.

Sorry if it’s boring to you but I hope it helps someone!

Yes, I always tweak my own glasses.
However it pays to be cautious, especially with a brand new expensive pair and the big advantage of going to the shop for adjustments is they are less likely to break them!

Not sure boiling water is a good idea though!!

A hairdryer works too!

@hexsnidgett i think I made that a bit dramatic - I boiled it but then put it in a jug so it wasn’t on a rolling boil! Don’t put the glass in though just the arms. These were two pairs for £150 from glasses direct so not expensive, I’m disproportionality excited to fiddle with them a bit more once I realise what the new pinch points are 🤣
