I live in the area and it is common for people to have been there.
It's overpriced and you have to pay for under 5s now!!
You hardly get any complimentary chocolate now, (an armful used to be standard) and there's barely any of the factory to see and it's a very short attraction to visit.
When some people have referred to it as a 'theme park', there are no roller coasters but there is a very short, tame track based 'ride that might bore some toddlers.
There is a climbing frame at the end which is similar to that of a standard council run park.

Glad more posters have validated my memories of being in the factory!

Ollybob · 19/04/2025 20:39

Definitely did used to go around some parts of the factory, it varied as to the time of year as different things were made at different times.
It used to be quite a walk up and down stairs which might be why they stopped and you didn't see much, maybe a conveyer or two and huge stacks of eggs!
Last time the only machinery was a wrapping robot.
I live locally and went as a child and took DD a few times, it's not so much a day out more of an afternoon/morning wander out and I'd also say it's more museum like with some interactive bits than a theme park.

Just checked and it opened in 1990 which fits with my memory of going a few times in the early to mid-90s. I probably last went in about 1996. It was great then. Sounds like they removed a lot of what made it good.

Can vouch for this - went as a kid I'm 90s it was brill! Went again maybe circa 2008 and.has changed loads.... don't bother basically 🤣

We went about a year ago because we got free tickets. It’s ok but it’s not amazing and I wouldn’t pay full price. Kids however just love the fact they’re in a chocolate factory 🤷‍♀️

if you’re in the area I’d do think tank and cannon hill park or spend the day at the Black Country living museum.

Boredofbeinganadult · 19/04/2025 21:19

I like how they give you a bag of chocolate on arrival

shellyleppard · 19/04/2025 21:23

We went a few years ago, ended up with a carrier bag full of free chocolate!! Its a good tour but you don't see the chocolate being made
